About the Series

This book series is a work of fiction.  When I started the concept for this scenario it was before COVID. I was not trying to predict anything, only creating a potential domino fall of events that might allow for the events that take place in this series.

The 2024 Presidential Election, which is now behind us, is the first ‘domino’ in the timeline. I was not trying to make any political stance or position. Certain events have to occur, in a specific order, for the scenario to potentially work. Yes, I used real world events, such as our elections, as well as other country’s desired goals, as part of my set of events.

No, I am not trying to predict the future. No, I am not trying to stand on any political platform. This is a book of fiction, with a series of events that allows the characters in the book (all are also fiction) to come to life and present what I hope is an enjoyable, if sometimes heart rending, read.

It may seem like some of the statements made by some of my characters are making a political stand- but remember, first, it is fiction, and second, when they speak it’s from their point of view, and when you are in their situation having the means to do what they think needs to be done is going to make sense to them. It’s all point-of-view, here.

Yes, I portray certain countries as the antagonists for this series. However, you will find several from each of them who are commendable, who are just doing what they think needs to be done, from every one of them. No country is a singular entity- the leadership can seem like that, but it’s not true (or at least not true in these novels).

Do I have villains? Oh, yes, I do. Really, really, bad people. Every story needs their fair share of them. Some of them are redeemable, some are so mired in their own evil there is no hope for them. And don’t get surprised when people who should be your ally is really out for themselves- people are people, and sometimes people do bad things.

And, good people get hurt, or die. It’s war, and the enemy wants to win, too.

Are there heroes? Yup, some of them are bigger than life, but all of them have their own flaws. How someone deals with those are the real grist for the writer’s mill- having your hero go through the hardest thing they even have gone through, and coming through the other side is what gets writers up in the morning. They are always changed in some way.

I’m not trying to change you, the reader, just tell a story. One of heroes who arise when they are needed. Anything from regular people to mafia killers- you never know who might save you when the bad guys come calling.

Read on, and enjoy.
